AirportStar is committed to the environment and for good business reasons we consider that we take positive actions to ensure that we are mindful of our environmental responsibilities.
Being foremost a specialist airport transfer service, unlike many minicab companies we can combine our upward transfers to airports with a return journey, this means that whenever possible our drivers will not be going to or coming from an airport empty, thus minimising our “dead” mileage which is a complete waste of fuel polluting the environment. Our advanced despatch software will despatch the nearest driver to a job thus once again reducing the carbon footprint of the journey.
Unlike Hackney Cabs (Black cabs) we are not trawling the streets empty ,polluting the City looking for business, when not actually transferring clients our vehicles remain static whenever possible.
Our drivers are instructed to drive defensively thus saving themselves fuel (and money!) and ensuring the customer is in a stress free zone. Satellite technology plus the experience of our drivers ensure that we complete the journey taking the most efficient route.
Our despatch system calculates the actual grams/kilometre for each vehicle journey. This data is available to customers on request.
In addition to these measures on the road, our investment in our state of the art despatch and control systems enable us progress to our goal of a “paperless office”. Whenever possible we email confirmations, receipts and invoices, account customers are specifically asked whether they need hard copy. Our Administration office has automatic lighting that shuts off when a room is empty.
Our commitment to the environment is such that we have a target to reduce our vehicle emissions by 15% per annum year on year, this will be achieved as the company fleet is replaced with more fuel efficient “greener” vehicles.
We believe that these principles and our common sense approach to the environment is both effective and shows our customers that we are rigorous in our efforts to ensure that AirportStar Ltd. is taking it’s responsibility with regard to the environment seriously.
